It's not a mystery that there are many ways to cook a fish, many ways to skin a snake.
It's also a known fact that there are many different ways to market a business.
It has however; constantly puzzled me as to why major corporations, and smaller corner store businesses DO NOT make use of the greatest marketing tool available to them.
Don't get me wrong, they use it, they just don't *make* use of it.
So what is the greatest marketing tool around -
"Word of Mouth" advertising.
Yep. I told you that you knew what it was.
Believe it or not, word of mouth advertising, or (as we call it on the Internet) "Word of Mouse" advertising is the single most powerful tool available to you.
Here is an analogy that you've probably already heard, but I'll share it with again anyway.
You go to a movie, say Jurassic Park 3, and you love it.
What do you so then? Do you keep your mouth shut next day back at work? Not a chance, you tell everyone about how fantastic it was (I'm assuming that you liked it).
And so the day goes, and then the week. As a matter of fact a month later you're sitting around with your friends and they spark up a conversation about movies.
"Hey, what about Jurassic Park 3," you say, "Wasn't that awesome..."
And so the conversation goes.
I believe that the average moviegoer will tell at least 50 other people what they thought about a movie across the following six months. Now that's powerful. A ratio of 1:50.
One person sees the movie and tells 50 others.
It gets released on video, on DVD, on cable, and across the next 2 years you'll tell over 100 people how great it was.
